Re: SPRING MEETING Moose, Is the EXCELLENT VENUE you are working on MOOSELAND? From your postings, it is obvious, you have done an outstanding job building your Croton Collection in a relatively short period of time.

I find that information very interesting. You certainly are an asset to this forum.

    The synonyms

Phil Stager raised an excellent question. Are the earliest names listed first? It might be even more helpful to highlight or in someway indicate the preferred name, if that has been established.

    Holiday Croton Social

In my opinion, the remark about Jerry is inappropriate for this forum and only served to paint Moose as a far-left loon. It is more fun to talk crotons, on this forum!

Offer Help With Correcting Names Here

Dean: I didn't think you were referring to the naming of crotons 350 yrs. ago. In recent years, some people, not knowing the name of a croton, made up their own name. That is a fact! Even Junglegal, a new croton collector, buyer realized that the same croton could have multiple names...

New WIKI feature: Master list of Names

This will prove helpful and much better than a book because, it can easily be edited and updated. You are moving right along Junglegal; Great job! Do you think we should have a special heading for Thai hybrids?

    Thai croton

Jeff: Regarding Thai crotons, what do you find is "the handwriting on the wall"? I already figured out, they are not the easiest to grow.

    Thai croton

Phil: I remember Dave Hickman. He got his Thai crotons shortly after I got mine. I never went to his place. I only saw him at plant shows. Years ago, I bought a few palms from him. I remember him telling me he was married to his palms so, I was surprised when he went gung-ho for Thai...

    Thai croton

Sergey: I found your post very interesting. Maybe that will help cool my desire for some of those gorgeous Thai crotons, I see in pictures. I have imported some of the Thai ones, with various degrees of success. Phil: Could you please reveal the name of the gentleman in Miami that sold...

    Karen - update 9/11

Ricky, thank-you so much for the update on Karen's treatment. She has been gentle on mind, since you first posted the notice. I only met Karen once; that was last year, at your Croton Meeting. However, I have been praying for her recovery, more than you can imagine and will continue to keep...

Borgy got it! The name is Goldilocks. Note to Crazy for Crotons... Goldilocks can be propagated from cuttings. You might care to try again with the one you have. Let us know how you make out.

    A Clueless Moose ?

Moose: No, it is not Rapunzel. However, that is a very good guess. Did someone help you? The next try, you will probably have it!

    A Clueless Moose ?

Moose: You know darn well, the name of The Croton is not Winnie the Pooh. :D:D:D:D

    A Clueless Moose ?

The Moose Be Clueless No More! I too, saw that Croton at Fairchild and knew I "needed" to have one. After inquiring around, I was able to located the dealer/collector that had it. Of course, I learned the name of it. Moose, if you guess the name, I will also be glad to tell you where I...

    New Additions!

Wow! Do you really expect to get a cutting off of that little plant in one month? What kind of fertilzer do you use? Have you had good luck in the past, rooting small, fragile tip cuttings? Don't you need at least 6 inches?

Croton Tours....any planned for the summer?

Oh my gosh! They are absolutely gorgeous. I have always liked William Craig but never saw one as beautiful as yours. You guys are doing something right! May I suggest you write an article, with pictures, for the Croton Society Newsletter. I'm sure that would be most welcome.
