    Fall croton tour??

Please let me know if anyone would like me to bring some freebies like at the last auction. I can take some more cordyline cuttings, get some aroid cuttings, and bring other assorted plants so everyone knows they will at least go home with something. Like my students say sharing is caring. :)

Wish Enid would bring some of her amazing plants for the auction, even if they are not crotons. :)

Great, looking forward to it and I will find some things to give out. They can be the door prizes for everyone who attends. Thanks, Karl

    Fall croton tour??

Hi Ana, Is November 17th the official date? I had been planning to come to Sarasota to visit Rob Branch to see his collection and do some trading over my Thanksgiving break, but now I am thinking it would make more sense to try to do it all the weekend of the croton auction. Maybe Rob would be...

I am definitely open to having one in Vero in the future. Sounds like we have a good plan for Ana's place. Maybe next fall.

    Vero Beach Crotons Spring 2018

Baby Moose is of course the seedling I got from Ron and named in his honor. It has become a really beautiful plant. I have only shared it with Marie so far.

    Vero Beach Crotons Spring 2018

Hi Ana, That was just a name I came up with for a seedling I got from Jose at the auction at your place. I thought it was one of a kind and he had said it was up for naming. That was the best name I could come up with at the time. Your plant looks quite different and very special. You should...

    My Babies in Vero

Thanks, it has taken a while. Many of my first seedlings did not survive or were not colorful. I still have my first seedling to grow up and it is not impressive at all, but I will probably keep it and name it Ugly Duckling. Some of these have potential and if they still look good when they get...

    Hi from Russia!

Hello Dimych, Where did you get the new crotons? They look great. Some interesting varieties. Your Picasso's Paintbrush has much longer leaves than the one I have, which I find appealing. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully Pix will be able to get some more to you if there is a way to ship that is not...

To Bee or not to Bee

When I first moved to Florida we had a small swarm living in an old bat house in our live oak tree. Not knowing what to do I called a local pest control and had them come and take a look. They said they were not sure if it was the Africanized "killer" bees, so instead of removing the small hives...

    Vero Beach Crotons Spring 2018

Pix, Unfortunately I do have croton scale. It appeared early on in the gardens when I first started getting into crotons. I need to use pesticides on a regular basis, but use it just selectively on the crotons because I have many butterfly attracting plants and don't want to impact the good...

    Vero Beach Crotons Spring 2018

Hopefully you will be back in Vero when I am free and the garden is looking good. I am still working on weeding and mulching, but things are coming along. We have missed most of the recent rain so things are starting to get dry. Even with an irrigation system there are plenty of plants that...
