    Vero Beach Crotons 2016

It was just 7 years ago that I was in Rhode Island and barely knew what a croton was, now I can't imagine not having them. Fishbone was a pretty early one in my collection, but still one of my favorites. Now the fun thing is watching all of the seedlings pop up in the gardens and wondering which...

    Croton event ??

I will bring plenty of cordyline cuttings for everyone who wants to choose from. What kind of unusual plants are you interested in? I am always happy to share if I have anything you would want. I have plenty of unusual philodendrons which I can take cuttings of. I have a low growing, fast...

    Croton event ??

Just took a look around and should have about 50 varieties of cordylines to bring cuttings of. Don't know all the names, some relatively common (not in the box stores) and other types from Hawaii that I have never seen for sale other than from specific growers there. I know some I paid $20 or...

    Croton event ??

Great, Randy. With all the crotons I got from you it would be nice to be able to give some plants back. I will bring as many different varieties as I can find and cut them the day before the auction. I have dwarf, mini leaved, tall, and large leaved in most of the colors, so will try to bring an...

    Croton event ??

Pix, I will bring an assortment. I know you had some interesting cordylines based on the photos you had shared, but hopefully I will have plenty you don't have. I mix them with the crotons in both sun and shade. I will try to take some photos to post so you and anyone else that wants them can...

    Croton event ??

Unfortunately I still have not gotten to the point where I am propagating crotons, but I would be happy to bring large cordyline cuttings to give away if anyone would like some. I have close to 100 varieties so should be able to easily get cuttings from 20 or 30 that are looking good. I still...

Where to buy crotons on west coast Florida?

Go to the other thread called "Croton Event ??" and Mike should provide details like that soon. I have not been down to visit these gardens yet so don't have the address for either of them. Mike (Bullwinkle) always brings amazing plants to the auctions so his gardens must be spectacular (and the...

Where to buy crotons on west coast Florida?

Welcome to the Crotonheads. The plants are usually 3 to 7 gallon and ready to make immediate impact in the landscape. There are some smaller, but 3 gallon would likely be the most common size pot with plants typically 2 to 4 feet tall depending on the variety. Excellent place to get your hands...

    Croton event ??

It has such a unique color combination. I have not seen anything like it. When it gets to a size you can easily propagate, it looks like something that would bring interest at a future auction. I would certainly bid on it. Thanks.

    20th Annual Spring Searle Plant Extravaganza! -●●●- March 2nd, 3rd, 4th – 9th, 10th, 11th - 2018

I know what I will be doing Saturday. Missed the last show, so need to come down to see the crotons that are available. If I was not working Friday I would be down the first day, luckily I always find plenty on Saturday. Thanks for the post I had not realized it was starting this weekend.

Lamar, What is the croton in the 3rd photo? Definitely looks like something that would make a nice addition to any collection.

    Croton event ??

Thanks for the info. I would love to see both gardens so hopefully I will be able to get down early enough. Looks like Cooper City is fairly close to the Searle Brothers Nursery which is a fairly easy drive. I don't think I have ever been to Plantation yet. I am sure the gardens are spectacular.

I was going to ask the same thing. Hoping I will be able to attend, but had no idea where it is.

    UNDER THE OLD OAK TREE

How are things going David? How did you make out with the cold weather this winter? I don't think I lost any crotons, but several dropped many of their leaves. A few little seedlings may have been done in by it. Still plan to stop down and bring more cordylines once it starts warming up so they...

    The cold snap.

You have some very pretty cordylines. Not just the typical varieties. I ordered about 150 stem cuttings of all different varieties from Hawaii a few years ago. Some are now big beautiful plants, some died, and some are still only a few inches tall but alive. It is fun when one of the more...
