    The longest yard!!

Ray, I used pine straw on my mimosa bed, it worked great. I remember you citing a source several months ago but I can't remember the details. I think I paid $3 a bundle.

    Croton ID?

Partial shade or morning light. Humidity is good, dry winds are bad. The smaller leaves should get bigger unless growing conditions are poor.

    Spiral White Fly

White fly hammered Pine Island this year. Mostly on coconuts, gumbo limbo, and spilling over to avocados and other palms. Crotons have only minor egg spirals here and there.

    Any ideas?

I bought a plant at J. Durko's labeled Rapheal and it ended up the same as you have, a Claude Louraine. It's a very good grower, with lighter pinks than Rapheal. Rapheal is harder to find, but truly one of the nicest crotons. The first photo looks like Rapheal.

The only drawback to a northern exposure is dry north winds from cold fronts. Crotons that are irrigated will handle it better. Wind barriers help a lot.

    Oh No !!! Bad Findings

Lately I've noticed bees and wasps feeding on my crotons. Not sure if it's mealy bugs or scales. For this reason I'm going to lay off the 3in1, b/c 3in1 unfortunately kills bees. My plan is to switch to soaps and oils and to spray them more frequently.
